Driving tricks that are not taught in the driving school that you need to know
Most drivers are convinced that if they know all the rules of the road then they will be ready for any situation that may occur. Besides these rules, there are others that are important which when you are not keen you might get hurt even in a minor accident.
Adjusting your seat properlyIf the only thing you are worried about when you sit behind your wheel is your comfort, then you are completely caught up in a mess of your own thinking. There should be a correct way to sit in the car and this can make a difference between safety and danger while driving. When you are at the driver’s seat, your knees should be slightly bent to avoid knee pain. Your seat is properly adjusted if you can easily reach the steering wheel and your elbows are slightly bent.
Check the brake pipes
When you hear screeches everytime you brake, the pedal pulses up and down. Your car drifts sideways when you press the brake pedal you notice some traces of brake fluid leaks on the inner side of the wheel. You don’t have to wait till you get the alarming signs that show your brakes are faulty since you check them more regularly. To find out whether your brake pipes are in a good condition, touch them and feel their flexibility to bend. If they are hard and rough, then replace them but if they are easier bent and soft then they are better off.
Do not lift your whole foot off the floor when switching from one pedal to another
This is really essential since it prevents your foot from slipping off the pedal. In addition to this, when you lift your foot completely off the floor, then you tend to be much slower. In cases of emergency braking, then you’ll be in better shape to do that because it’s easier to move the tip of your foot when changing gears while your heel is on the floor.
Wear your seatbelt at all times and properly
You should not slip your seatbelt under your arm or at the back. The top strap should cross your chest and collarbone and the lower should go across your hips and not over your belly. If you notice that your seatbelt is twisted, then you should straighten it well to lie flat against your chest and pelvic area. If you feel that it’s too tight against your body, then you should adjust it properly to be comfortable.
