PDP State Chairman begins tour of all LGs in Zamfara
The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State on Wednesday began a working visit to all the 14 local government areas in the state.
PDP State Publicity Secretary in Zamfara, Alhaji Haliru Andi, in a statement in Gusau on Wednesday, indicated that the State Working Committee, led by the state PDP Chairman, Dr Jamilu Jibo-Magayaki, embarked on the state-wide tour to enhance the party’s strength in the state.
He said that the working visit is aimed at promoting unity, peace and stability, as well as development of the party in the state.
“This is one of the agenda of new PDP leadership in the state, to ensure transparency and accountability in the party leadership in the state, local government and wards Levels.
“The working visit covered Bakura, Talata Mafara, Maradun, Shinkafi, Zurmi, Anka, Maru and Bungudu Local Government Areas.
“The party chairman successfully inaugurated party caucus in all the LGAs visited, as enshrined in the PDP constitution,” Andi explained.
He said that in each LGA, the party caucus would be headed by the party chairman of that council area, with members drawn from the party executives, political office holders and other members.
“During the visit, the state party chairman presented a PDP flag to the chairman of the caucus in each of the LGAs visited,” the State Publicity Secretary stated.
