Death of Ondo federal legislator, Omolafe, rude shock – Gov Akeredolu

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, on Monday decried the sudden death of a federal legislator from the state, who died in the early hours of Monday. The governor lamented that the death of Adedayo Omolafe, popularly known as Expensive, representing Akure South/North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, was a rude shock.

The governor in a statement by his press secretary, Richard Olabode, noted that the death of the federal legislator was sudden.

Governor Akeredolu remarked that the demised Adedayo, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was committed to the service of his people, noting that he served as elected Executive Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area in 2004, and subsequently, representing his people in the National Assembly.

Governor Akeredolu commiserated with the National Assembly, the people of Akure, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State.

Akeredolu condoled with the immediate family of the deceased, urging them to take solace in the legacy of his good deeds, especially, his philanthropic gestures while he was alive.

The lawmaker, Adedayo Omolafe, representing Akure South/North in the House of Representatives, died at his residence in Akure at about 2.00am on Monday.

He was a former chairman of Akure South local government

It was disclosed that the demised lawmaker was not ill and was seen on Sunday with some of his constituents, before his death in the early hours of Monday.
