Ganduje donates N250m to victims of fire disaster in Kano markets
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has made a donation of N250 million to the victims of fire outbreak tat razed the Singer and Kurmi markets in Kano.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, in a statement, indicated that the donation was to providing an immediate succour to the traders who lost their goods in the inferno.
The commissioner said that Governor Ganduje would present the cheque to leaders of the traders’ associations in the market at the Government House, Kano.
The governor appealed to individuals and organisations to assist the traders in any way possible to minimise their losses.
One of the traders, Adamu Abdullahi, was cited to have stated: “We are grateful for the donation made by the governor to support us during this difficult time. We are also hopeful that the committee set up to assess the situation will recommend more support for us.”
