Nigerian Navy release comedian Cute Abiola from custody
The Nigerian Navy has freed Comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly know as Cute Abiola, from custody.
Commodore Suleman Dahun, Naval spokesperson, confirmed the development to a source on Friday [Today].
Comedian Cute Abiola was said to have been missing on the 15th of November [Monday], when his colleague in the comedy industry, Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr Macaroni, raised the alarm that the comedian Cute Abiola was missing after reporting at his office in Navy Town, Lagos State that same day.
Two days after the alarm was raised, Commodore Dahun, had announced that the Comedian was not missing but was put in custody for violating the military laws by posting on social media a video of himself in military uniform, an act which is said to be in violation of the armed forces’ social media policy
He also added that the comedian didn’t show up when he was called upon to explain himself but only returned after the expiration of his break on November 15, 2021, and was put in custody that same day.
The naval spokesman maintained that the comedian knowingly breached the armed forces’ social media policy but was given a punishment after he was tried for misconduct and lack of discipline.
He further added that the comedian is no longer in the naval custody as he has been released to observe his punishment.
