Scores kidnapped in Ogbomoso hotel
Some people have been kidnapped by gunmen in a hotel in Ajaawa, Ogbomoso, the headquarters of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government of Oyo State.
The incident occurred 10:30 pm on Saturday, throwing residents of the sleepy community into panic.
There were still conflicting figures of victims as at press time.
Oyo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Adewale Osifeso confirmed the incident.
He said the Police Command had commenced investigation, adding that teams from the command were on the trail of the kidnappers.
The gunmen were said to have shot sporadically into the air to create fear among people immediately they invaded the hotel located at the back of CAC Primary School in the town before abducting the victims.
Some residents said the police, Amotekun Corps and hunters had started combing the bushes in search of the kidnappers and their victims.
