Yobe State has been hit by another severe flood disaster, further disrupting transportation and access across the state.
The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) announced on Tuesday that the Damaturu-Gujba road is now impassable, following the destruction of a section near Katarko village.
This brings the total number of major roads affected by the ongoing flooding to three.
The Nangere-Jakusko and Jumbam-Dapchi bridges were previously damaged by earlier floods.
Governor Buni Takes Action:
SEMA Executive Secretary, Mohammed Goje, stated that Governor Mai Mala Buni is working tirelessly to address the situation and ensure the safety of citizens.

Public Urged to Exercise Caution:
Residents are urged to exercise caution and stay informed about alternative routes.
SEMA has deployed volunteers and life jackets to assist those who need to cross floodwaters by boat.
This recent flood follows another major flood event last week, which disconnected seven Local Government Areas from the state capital, Damaturu.
The cause of the flooding is attributed to heavy water flow from the Jama’are River in Bauchi State.
The Yobe State Government has pledged to work diligently to overcome the impact of this disaster.
