UAM Produces New 8 First Class Graduates

The Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Makurdi has graduated 8 First Class graduands in this year’s 22nd combined Convocation Ceremonies.
The convocation which take place today at the University’s south core showed a slight increase over the 4 produced last year.
A total of 3,904 graduands received first and postgraduate degrees as well as Diplomas in various disciplines which is the 22nd in the series.
KOf these, 3,193 were for first degrees while 711 were for post graduate Diplomas respectively.
Also graduated were 230 Masters Degree, 29 doctor of philosophy (PhD) and 452 postgraduate Diplomas.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Emmanuel I. Kucha, charged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the University and the country in their further life pursuit.
According to the vice chancellor, the bold steps taken by the federal government to reposition the country on the path of integrity, honour and prosperity should be reflected in their manner of doing things, the better way.
The society and nation Prof kucha opined look up the graduates to improved their scientific output and increased agricultural production for enhanced economic performance. Urging them to quickly key into president Buhari’s change agenda as faithful agents of the agricultural revolution.
He said “the responsibility of turning round the forturns of our economy from the mono-culture oil sector to agriculture lies solely on your shoulders and you must prove your worth”
Meanwhile the university also witnessed the investiture of the school’s new chancellor , HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Emir of Ilorin and chairman, Kwara State council of chiefs.
