Showdown in APC, police, DSS seal party Secretariat, Abuja
The unresolved crises in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is increasing in magnitude, culminating into threats of showdown with the national leadership of the party. This resulted in the barricade of the entrance and exit gates of the APC national Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday by the police and the DSS.
Police patrol vans were stationed at the entry and exit gates of the APC national Secretariat located at Blantyre Street, Abuja, on Wednesday.
The police were reinforced by the Department of State Service (DSS), at the APC secretariat to prevent party members from gaining access to the secretariat to protest the flaws of the various party congresses across the state. The security operatives were there to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order.
The security operatives were said to be invited APC leaders over reports of planned mass protest by party members of the APC leaders sentiments in handling the conduct of ward, local government and state congresses across the country, and aligning with particulars APC factions where parallel congresses held in various states.
