Health conditions that can become worse when you eat turmeric
Tumeric is a spice which has an active chemical, curcumin, that is known for its anti inflammatory and antioxidants benefits. This spice is very nutritious when added to our diet and can be used as medicine. Turmeric has a good nutrient value because it contains;
– Dietary fiber
– omega-3 fatty acids
– Iron
– Manganese
– Potassium
– Vitamin B6
– Vitamin C.
Although turmeric have proven to be very effective in the prevention and treatment of certain health problems, however, not all health conditions needs to be treated with turmeric.
According to MedicineNet, here are certain health conditions that can become worse when you eat turmeric.
1. Gall bladder disease: Eating turmeric when you have a gall bladder disease can worsen the symptoms. Turmeric can cause the contraction of the gall bladder and blockage of the bile duct.
2. Kidney stone: Eating turmeric when you have kidney stone disease will only worsen the condition. Tumeric has a high oxalate concentration and this can bind with calcium to form more kidney stones inside your kidney.
3. Bleeding disorder: people who have bleeding disorder should avoid eating turmeric because it can slow down blood clotting and make them bleed profusely when they sustain minor injury.
4. Diabetes: people who have diabetes should not eat turmeric because it can make their blood sugar level to become low and reduce beyond the normal level which is also dangerous for the body.
5. Iron deficiency: When you have iron deficiency in your body, eating turmeric can affect your iron absorption.
6. Stomach problem: When you have a stomach problem such as Gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), eating turmeric can worsen the symptoms.
7. Liver disease: People who have liver problems should not eat turmeric because it can worsen the disease and cause harm to their liver.
8. Infertility: men with infertility problem should avoid eating turmeric because it can lower their testosterone level and slow down sperm movement.
9. Pregnancy: pregnant women should not eat turmeric because it can induce their menstrual cycle during pregnancy.
