31-year-old under influence whacks 75-year-old father to death
A man in Song LGA, Adamawa, has been arrested for his 75-year-old father to death.
Nicodemus Ignatius, 31, committed the crime after returning home from a drinking binge on March 3.
That was the second time Ignatiius would make such attempt, following that of November which got him arrested.
According to neighbours, he first locked both his father and mother up that day.
The frightened old man however attempted to escape by jumping through a window.
Ignatiius then descended on him, and whacked him with a stick.
On his arrest, the suspect confessed to killing his father, saying he was under the influence of marijuana.
DSP Suleiman Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Police Command, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
