Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo breaks silence after axe from United

Manchester United have on Thursday released a statement with the claim that attacker, Cristiano Ronaldo has been axed from the squad to face Chelsea on Saturday.

National Daily had earlier reported that the 37-year-old Portuguese was captured storming out of the pitch at the 89^th minute and before the full-time, thus abandoning his team-mates in their mid-week EPL encounter against Spurs on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has finally broken his silence over the unfortunate incident with an attempt to remedy his personality in his released 174-word statement.

He has admitted that “the heat of the moment” got the better of him and he has vowed to “keep working hard”.

“Unfortunately that’s not always possible and sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of us.

“Right now, I just feel that I have to keep working hard in Carrington, support my teammates and be ready for everything in any given game.

“Giving in to the pressure is not an option. It never was. This is Manchester United, and united we must stand. Soon we’ll be together again.”

The former Real Madrid talisman whose contract expires next summer increasingly looks to likely quit United at some point next year after he was keen to do so in the summer after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League.
