Protest rocks Ikeja, as policeman reportedly kill a 24-yr-old generator engineer
The youths in Oregun, Ikeja area of Lagos State on Monday morning, May 29, took to the street to protest over the death of a 24-year-old generator engineer, identified as Idris Jagun, who was allegedly killed by a policeman.
It was gathered that the Idris lost his life after he was hit by a stray bullet allegedly fied by the suspect, identified simply as officer Kabiru, on Sunday night, May 28.
According to eyewitnesses reports, some youngsters were fighting on Oregun road at about 10.30pm when an Alausa police station van on patrol drove to the scene.
The policemen were said to have come down from the van and in a bid to disperse the crowd, officer Kabiru shot into the crowd and the bullet hit Idris on his thigh.
He was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
