Youths defy Police order, embark on protest in Kano
Youths in Kano State on Monday ignored Police order banning protest in the state as the tribunal gets ready to deliver judgment on the governorship election petition.

Several youths took their protest to the Government House, Kano, to express their displeasure over suspicions of interference.
The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Husaini Gumel, had on Monday placed ban on all forms of protest in the state, citing reports that members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were mobilising to protests the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which will sit for the adoption of written addresses.
The CP had declared: “intelligence reports revealed that both the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are mobilising for street protests against the tribunal sitting.”
The youths, however, did not comply with the ban as they trooped to the streets in the later hours of Monday carry out the planned protest.
