Tension as Supreme Court set to deliver judgment today
There is palpable tension in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Supreme Court has resolved to conclude all hearing and deliver judgment on the appeal brought before the apex by the PDP faction led Senator Ahmed Makarfi, National Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, over the February 17 judgment of the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, rivers State, which upheld Ali Modu Sherriff as the authentic Chairman of the PDP.
The Nigeria’s Supreme Court in its preliminary judgment ruled that Ahmed Makarfi has the right of appeal, and accordingly, struck out Sherriff’s objection.
The court has directed that all motions and substantive appeal be held today not in peaceful.
