Ex- lawmaker Joseph Kigbu Kidnapped in Nasarawa, Police escort killed
Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, a former member of the House of Representatives for the Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, has been abducted by gunmen while traveling to Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The kidnapping occurred on Monday along the Nunku-Gwantu route, which spans Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State and Sanga Local Government Area in Kaduna State.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired multiple gunshots during the attack, killing Kigbu’s police orderly in a fierce gun battle.
“The kidnappers, in a violent exchange of gunfire, shot and killed the police escort attached to Joseph Kigbu as he tried to resist their advances,” a witness recounted.
