Arik crash lands in Asaba

An aircraft of the Arik on a flight from Lagos to Asaba has been revealed to crash land at a community close to Asaba, Delta State capital.

National Daily gathered that 25 passengers boarded the flight at about 6.00pm at the Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria but developed fault on approaching Delta State.

One of the passengers on board the flight, a Nollywood actress, Uche Elendu, had celebrated that they escaped death.

Elendu was said to have posted immediately after the incident posted on her social media accounts, chiding the airline’s crew over the incident. Elendu had disclosed that they were 10 minutes away from landing at the Asaba Airport when the gear of the aircraft failed.

The Nollywood actress further narrated her terrifying experience that the pilot attempted to return to Lagos before the unfortunate crash landing at the remote community near the Asaba Airport.

She had revealed that one of the male air hosts had told her at the beginning of the flight to place her luggage under the seat that it will save her in case of a crash but she stopped him from further making any negative comment.

Meanwhile, Arik Air has not yet made any official statement on the crash. However, the airline was said to have conveyed the passengers to the airport terminal in a bus.
