Babajide Otitoju reveals why Igbos may not produce Nigeria’s president
Popular Nigerian broadcaster and multiple awards winning journalist, Babajide Otitoju has reacted to the comments made by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, who condemned the delegates from the South East for not voting for him at the just concluded All Progressive Congress presidential primaries.
It would be recalled that Governor Uhahi made some comments against Ohanaeze and some South East Governors regarding their role in the election that produced Asiwaju Tinubu as the party’s flag bearer.
Babajide Otitoju while speaking during today’s edition of journalists hangout on TVC, said the action of Umahi is a good example of why the South-East may not produce the next president of Nigeria.
According to Babajide Otitoju, are not good in forming alliance in order to get what they want.
Hear him “Let him tell us the governors that he managed to convince so that they can help him advance the course of the South East.. The South-East can not be able to produce the president of Nigeria unless they build alliance beyond their region. Because all what umahi is saying now is not addressing what needs to be done concerning the defeat and the way forward for the South-East. As historians we can tell Umahi what he has forgotten or what he chooses to forget. The NPN and NPP had a form of alliance that enable the South-East to produce the speaker of the house of representatives. When was the last time politicians from the South-East try to build that form of alliance. ” he said.
