Enugu taekwondo association chairman hails Anyanacho on qualification for Tokyo Olympics
The Enugu State Chairman of Taekwondo Association, Ebere Amaraizu, on Tuesday hailed the untiring spirit of Elizabeth Anyanacho in qualifying for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Amaraizu gave the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on the exploits of Anyanacho in taekwondo in recent years.
NAN reports that Anyanacho, a 22-year-old student of Statistics at Federal University of Technology in Owerri, has shown dedication to taekwondo to be part of Team Nigeria to Tokyo.
“I salute her passion and courage, as well as dedication, to make it internationally in the game of taekwondo,” Amaraizu said.
He noted that the feat she has achieved goes to show her constant ability to channel her strength and time towards positivism and discovering the potentials in her.
“When you indulge yourself with taekwondo, you will pass through its benefits such as indomitable spirit, modesty, integrity and perseverance which will also prepare you for your endeavours and existence.
“By this, Elizabeth Anyanacho will now become the second-ever female to qualify for the Olympics in taekwondo, after Princess Dudu at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
“This is worthy of emulation by our young minds to discover themselves and channel their strength and energies to something positive, thus becoming a champion’’.
