Ondo first lady chickens out of Imo senatorial race; Uzodinma looks away
Ondo Gov Rotimi Akeredolu’s wife has backed out of her effort to contest the APC ticket for a senatorial seat in Imo East.
Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu said the move became necessary because of the intimdation she and her team got.
In a statement issued on Sunday titled “Notice of withdrawal from Senate race”, te first lady noted the intrigue is from the high authorities in the state chapter of the APC..
In a viral video on Saturday, the First Lady had cried out over plots to shut her out of the process, adding that she approached Governor Hope Uzodinma over the situation.
“I must, at this juncture, appreciate Ada Owere team, all my friends and supporters who stood by me during this period. Special thanks to the delegates who believed in me but were denied the opportunity to express their support,” she said
