APC: Jonathan’s name missing on list as Tinubu, 22 others begin screening
Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s name is conspicuously missing among the 23 presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for screening between today and Tomorrow in Abuja.
The campaign for Jonathan has been slammed as an insult to the founders and members of the APC, seven years after the party ousted Jonathan and the PDP in the 2015 election.
The rumours of Jonathan contesting the APC ticket began after a so-called northern coalition bought the APC presidential expression of interest and nomination forms for him.
Despite the former president denying interest, the rumour persisted and was given another life by fables he would be fielded as consensus candidate.
