Court nullifies nomination of Bwacha as APC gov candidate in Taraba, orders fresh primary
A Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State, on Tuesday nullified the nomination of Emmanuel Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba.
The presiding judge, Justice Simon Amobeda, upheld the petition of a governorship aspirant, David Sabo Kente, that no governorship primary was held in Taraba, directed the APC to conduct fresh primary within 14 days.
The judge further ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to desist, henceforth, from recognizing Emmanuel Bwacha, currently, senator, representing Taraba South in the National Assembly, as the APC governorship candidate in Taraba. The senator was also restrained from parading himself as APC governorship candidate for the 2023 elections.
Justice Amobeda declared the false declaration of results at the Danbaba Suntai Airport, Jalingo before jetting out of the state via a private jet by the returning officer, inappropriate.
