Davido’s ‘Timeless’ sets record for African album on Apple music

Afrobeat superstar Davido’s newest album, Timeless has set a new record for the most first-day streams by an African album on Apple Music.

This was made known on Monday in a tweet shared via Apple Music Twitter handle.

Apple Music tweeted “.#davido is breaking global records. The Nigerian superstar’s #Timeless had the most first-day streams ever for an African album on Apple Music.”

The album amassed one million streams on Boomplay in just six hours after it was released on the streaming platform on Friday, March 31. The album was also the No. 1 album on Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, UK’s Top Albums Chart as well as in 17 other countries on Apple Music.
