After a long period in recovery, Chelsea just got a massive injury boost ahead of next week’s Premier League and Champions League activity.

Chelsea can rest easy knowing they just got a massive injury boost ahead of next week’s activity. Earlier on Friday, there were images of N’Golo Kante finally getting back into the pitch after a long recovery. The French midfielder wasn’t exactly injured, he tested positive for Covid-19 a few weeks ago. Just before the Blues’ trip to Juventus in the Champions League, Kante was ruled out of the game with the illness. Despite the difficult times without him, the Chelsea squad managed to remain competitive in all tournaments.

Kante was spotted doing individual drills that will determine if he’ll be ready to make a full comeback after the international break. In fact, the Frenchman obviously missed this week’s crucial UEFA Nations League semifinal against Belgium. He is also set to miss the final against Spain next Sunday but he needed to follow the established health protocols. N’Golo is expected to return with the national team during the November international break near the end of the year.

After Chelsea’s impressive season, N’Golo Kante was one of the five Blues’ players who got a Ballon d’Or nomination. Alongside Mason Mount, Jorginho, Azpilicueta, and Romelu Lukaku complete the five-player list of Chelsea’s nominees for the award. However, only Kante and Jorginho are considered favorites to win the award out of that list. If everything goes according to plan, Kante would be getting his first podium spot as a Ballon d’Or nominee.

But only offensive stars such as Robert Lewandowski or Karim Benzema could take his place. As always, Kante is humble and happy to simply be part of such a prestigious list of fellow nominees. But more importantly, he is happy he finally beat Covid-19 and can train alongside his teammates once again. The season will be long and Thomas Tuchel will need the player he trusts the most for the biggest games of the year.
