Novak Djokovic crashes out of French Open
Defending champions Novak Djokovic has been dumped out of the French Open by an inspired Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals.
The 7-6, 6-3, 6-0 scoreline reflected how the game panned out, with the Serbian resigned to his fate midway through the third set. Thiem was in his element throughout, playing a strong game from the baseline, reminiscent of Rafael .
Djokovic, who has not looked to be at his best at Roland Garros, did not have the answers to Thiem’s aggression and disintegrated once he lost the second set.
The third set was nothing but a farce, Thiem notching a bagel with virtually no effort. The Austrian has set up a lip-smacking semifinal .
