Paul Pogba addresses team-mates over Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United fans are still in absolute euphoria following the return of their star favourite Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.
The international all-time record goal scorer rejoined the Red Devils last week in a shock move that saw the five-time Ballon d’Or winner sign a two-year deal with his former club.
Obviously, it appeared that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could not resist the chance to sign his former team-mate to boost United’s title chances considering the fact the United boss had stressed just 48 hours before an agreement was struck with Ronaldo that there was no plan for the club to make any further additions in the window.
The return of the Portugal captain has been celebrated by both United fans and players.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba who had admitted his delight to be able to call Ronaldo a team-mate, has warned his team-mates to ensure that they step-up to the Portuguese level.
‘It’s always a pleasure to play with the best,’ said Pogba.
‘It’s also a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player. He’s going to raise the level of the team
‘Everybody knows [what Ronaldo brings]. He’s already a legend in this club and he’s coming back, so obviously it’s huge for us, for the club
‘He’s going to bring his experience, his quality and obviously when he comes the level [of the team] goes up.’
Pogba and United will play host to Newcastle United on Saturday at Old Trafford where Ronaldo may be expected to make his second debut for the Red Devils.
