17-year-old boy, friends arrested for planning his own kidnap

A 17-year-old boy, and his 2 friends has been arrested by the police for faking his kidnap to defraud his parent of N2m in Delta state.

The suspect, Ade Segun, planned his own kidnap along 2 of his friends, Precious and Nonso.

The 2 friends called Segun’s parent and demanded the sum of 2million naira for the release of their son.

The police ask the parent to play along, pretending to pay the ransom money.

Some undercover policemen went to the location, laid ambush and one of them (Precious) came to pick the money, he was rounded up and arrested and took them to their hideout where Ade and the other friend were hiding.

Upon interrogation, they confessed that it was all planned out.
