Innovation: NACETEM to host Government-Industry-Academia linkages workshop March 24-25 — PRO
The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) is to host a Government-Industry-Academia (GIA) linkages workshop on March 24 and March 25, according to Isaac Oluyi, the Public Relations Officer of the Agency.
“The GIA Linkages workshop coming up will have the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Mr Abdulahi Mohammed, as Keynote Speaker, Oluyi said in a statement in Abuja, on Tuesday
“This workshop promises to challenge the key actors in National Innovation System to come together and leverage on existing technology and innovation, to bring about sustainable development in Nigeria”, he said.
Oluyi also said it was part of the agency’s plans to bring cutting edge knowledge aimed at building the capacity of middle to high level manpower in science, technology and innovation management.
He said to achieve all these, the agency, through Prof. Okechukwu Ukwuoma, it’s Director General, had outlined programmes and conferences that would effectively drive home these goals.
“In this regard, we have many seminars, workshops and conferences lined up to hold on Zoom.
“This is one of the agency’s ways of reaching out to Nigerians during this ‘new normal’ occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
According to him, NACETEM had been positioned to bridge the wide gap among the main actors in Nigeria’s national innovation system.
Apart from bridging the wide gap, the agency was also positioned to promote synergy in science, technology and innovation, as well as job creation for national development.
