Thomas Tuchel, the Manager of Chelsea in the English Premiership League, has cautioned that the players must be in different attitude and different mindset to change their game and retain at position in the top four this season. Tuchel said that this is essential before their next game with Tottenham on Sunday so as to struggling to remain in the top four of the Premier League.

Chelsea have lost their chances of winning the Premier League title this season after winning one game in seven consecutive matches in the past two months. Chelsea are 12 points behind the League leader, Manchester City.

Tuchel admitted that the players may be weighed down by emotions, frustration or disappointment, essentially, losing the top spot after weeks of being ahead of others and slumping to the fourth position.

According to Tuchel, “I could see, I could feel from myself and from the team, that some emotions took over, maybe frustration, maybe disappointment.

“We have to make sure we are in a different attitude and a different mindset, and in top shape, because we have a big match coming on Sunday.”

Chelsea’s top four position has become shaky. Tottenham are eight points behind Chelsea who are in third position, but they have four games to play which can give them 12 points if they are won.

West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United who are trailing Chelsea, have outstanding matches in the European championship to secure ticket for the Champions League next season.

Chelsea was, however, slowed down by injuries and COVID infection of some key players at the time the team was on top of the table. This contributed to the loss of sensitive matches; and it would appear the team is yet to recover from those losses and being displaced from the top of the League table.

Chelsea lost six maximum points to Man. City in their two-leg defeat in the season, and  lost four points to Liverpool in their two-;leg draw; they also lost two points to Manchester United after a draw at home.
